Huge Cracked Oak about to fall onto our customers house – same day service provided by JL Tree Service Inc.

The City of Fairfax called JL Tree Service arborist for a second opinion about a large cracked tree about to fall onto a residents home. Sean Lewett quickly visited the jobsite to assess the situation. Upon arrival, the large Oak had a old crack and new cracks visible in the trunk. Another tree guy had already tied up the trunk with bull rope. Our recommendation was immediate removal since it had such hefty and recent cracks and the tree was leaning right over the house and customers bedroom. Our advise was not to sleep in the house that night, and to approve the job and get a crew out to start immediately. Once the customer signed the proposal, we had a crew within 1 hour to start the job late in the afternoon around 4pm. Our crane and crew showed up promptly and began to setup. The first pick is always the most important on a cracked and dangerous tree like this one. Thank God, the first pick, a limb about 8-10″ was rigged with the crane and smoothly brought down. The crew got the entire tree down by dark and picked up the wood the next morning. Great job guys!
