There are 2 separate prices when it comes to stump grinding & hauling services
- Cost to Grind a stump
- Cost to Haul the stump shavings/grindings
These 2 services are performed by separate crew members, each specialized in their specific task to ensure a thorough and efficient process. A stump crew will come out with a well-equipped pickup truck and a sturdy trailer that carries the stump machine specifically designed to grind the stump down to below ground level, making it easier for the surrounding area to be utilized without obstructions. Once the grinding is complete, another dedicated haul crew will arrive with a different pickup truck and trailer, carefully tasked with hauling away the stump shavings and grindings, ensuring that the worksite is clean and free from debris. This strategic division of labor not only speeds up the overall process but also enhances the quality of service provided to the customer, allowing for a landscape that is both aesthetically pleasing and safe for future use.
What to do with the ground out area once stump grinding and hauling is complete?
- Plant a tree
- Turn the ground up area into grass
These are the 2 most common things customers do with the yard space after removing a stump. You can plant a tree in the exact same hole from where the previous tree stump existed. Make sure to use plenty of fresh top soil and rake away as much of the stump grindings underneath the ground as possible. If you intend on turning the ground out area into grass, we also provide seed and straw services as well. Another option is to use seed matting which is generally best for sloped terrain since seed and straw might not stay put during rainy weather. We use this a lot on the commercial side of business after we grind out stumps and haul the grindings level. There are a variety of seed matting, we do not recommend using the matting made out of plastic because it does not decompose obviously, and usually gets caught up in mowers and eventually becomes an issue later on. There is a organic matter type of seed matting that is made of material that will decompose once the grass sprouts.
